Toddler Speak: The Phrases That Stick Around
Truth be told, I’m not all that embarrassed. I’m proud to embrace these phrases my baby came up with because I’m proud she has learned enough to be able to speak them. I love sharing her language with her and communicating with terms I know she can fully comprehend.
Raising originals, not copies.
35-60% of our personality is genetic! And there’s even a study showing that how kids act at age 3 can predict a lot about who they’ll be at 26. So if you have a child who loves trying new things and another who clings to routine, it’s not just a mood—it’s part of who they are.
Is your child hiding their colors?
But kids don’t always know what makes them special—until someone else helps them see it. Whether it’s a teacher, a parent, or a friend, sometimes all it takes is one person to notice a child’s gift for them to step into their confidence.
Individuality is not taught - it's caught.
This month, we’re diving into individuality—what makes each of us unique and how we can help our kids step into their most confident, authentic selves. But here’s something most people don’t realize: individuality isn’t just taught—it’s caught.
Here's your Feb recap!
Psychologists have found that a child’s sense of identity is deeply shaped by the way they experience love and belonging. When kids feel unconditionally accepted—not just for what they do, but for who they are—they develop confidence, resilience, and a strong inner compass.
Who you are shapes how you parent.
Parenting is the hardest job in the world—not just because of the endless to-do lists, but because it asks so much of us as people. It’s not just about what we say or do, but who we are in the moments that challenge us most.
Heroes aren’t born—they’re raised.
Your inner hero is already inside you, waiting to be awakened. Just like the heroes in our favorite stories, you have the power to grow, adapt, and rise to challenges.
Who Do You Think You Are?
Heroes don’t wait for someone to tell them they’re special. They decide who they are and act accordingly. The same goes for us. Our identity—the way we see ourselves—shapes everything we do. If we want to raise empowered kids, we have to help them (and ourselves) build an identity that lifts us up, not holds us back.
